Our Faculty

Assoc.Prof. HAYASHI Yoko

My specialty is supporting individuals with characteristics of developmental disabilities and their families. My previous studies have focused on elementary and middle school students with autism spectrum disorder who have strong perfectionistic obsessions, with the theme of developing support programs for them.
Recently, I have also been engaged in student counseling and support for students with disabilities at universities. University students with neurodevelopmental conditions tend to experience difficulties in various areas, including participating in class, working on assignments, relating to other people, and managing daily life, and are said to be prone to secondary mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Going forward, I will be committed to research and practice aimed at building a comprehensive support system at the university level — one that helps students understand their own strengths and weaknesses, including the characteristics of their conditions, and enables them to choose environments that suit them and make use of appropriate environmental accommodations.
